Portland Oregon Wedding Videography and Films - FAQ Page

Cinematography is defined as the art of making motion pictures. Simply put its using the tools and techniques of the trade to tell a story. It’s truly an art form.  A cinematographer aims to create an aesthetically pleasing and entertaining film that showcases your unique wedding as opposed to merely documenting an event.

Most of our couples book with us because they want to capture the day that they have dreamed about all of their lives and spent months planning with our beautiful cinematic-style films. The movement and sound of film brings you back into the moment like no other medium. It truly lets you relive all the fun and emotion of the day for generations to come. With us you can rest assured that your wedding film will be handled professionally and with the utmost care.

We specialize in long form wedding films that are long enough to highlight all of the most important details of your day but short enough that you will want to watch them over and over again! Our Cinematic Feature Films are generally 10-15 minutes long and our Highlight Films are 4-6 minutes. Each wedding is special and unique and the final length of each film depends on the wedding. We also offer full length versions of your ceremony, first looks, toasts and more so you can watch those special moments in their entirety.

We have invested in all the gear necessary to shoot and produce truly cinematic looking films. This includes some of today’s most highly rated camera equipment from Canon and Sony. We have a wide selection of professional Sennheiser microphones and sound equipment as well. All the pretty pictures in the world mean very little if you can’t hear all the beautiful words spoken during the vows and your friend or relatives sweet but slightly embarrassing speech at the reception!

We also utilize gimbles, sliders, tripods, and additional equipment from top brands like DJI, Kessler, and Manfrotto.

We will mic the groom for the ceremony (and first look if you are having one) and that will pick up the bride’s audio. We also work with the DJ to make sure we record the sound going through his sound system.

Filming! This is the perfect time for cinematographers to get establishing shots of the venue, the ceremony and reception space, and your photo sessions. These glamour shots help bring our films to life. Coverage is continuous because we never stop working to get the best footage!

Still photography is finicky—if you’re blinking in a photo, it’s no good. That’s why we always let your photographer take the lead and work around him or her. But we also make sure to take some time with just you to capture some cinematic and dramatic footage that is sure to leave you wanting more!

Creating a cinematic film that tells a truly unique story requires thought, skill and time. At its core each film is a work of art as well as a labor of love, crafted with each couple uniquely in mind. We know our couples can’t wait to see their wedding films so we do our best to finish as soon as possible. We try to have your finished film to you within 3 months from the date of your wedding.

I am based in Portland so most of my weddings are just a few hours drive from the Portland Metro Area. Drop us a line with your wedding details and we will work with you to make it happen!
